Our Other Key Areas of Focus
The Department of Psychiatry actively supports research to generate new knowledge in psychiatry and mental health. We provide a robust system for publishing and disseminating research findings nationally and internationally through the Faculty, psychiatric associations, and academic journals. Currently, the department operates the Psychiatric Epidemiology and Mental Health Research Unit, dedicated to studying psychiatric disorders and the mental health status of the Thai population.
We provide academic services in psychiatry and mental health to physicians, related professionals, and the general public. This includes professional consultations, training programs, seminars, and academic conferences aimed at developing and exchanging knowledge at both national and international levels, while communicating accurate mental health information to enhance the public's quality of life.
We provide medical services for the diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric patients and individuals with mental health concerns across outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) settings, as well as consultation-liaison and emergency psychiatric services for other medical specialties. Additionally, the department offers specialized care through dedicated clinics, such as the Geriatric Psychiatry Clinic, Dementia Clinic, and Addiction Psychiatry Clinic.
